Spring has just one more week until it ends and what a beautiful season it’s been. We grew hundreds of pounds of food and we supported local by bringing back some old favorites and welcome a few new producers to our Kith & Kin.
Our members were introduced to chicory greens for the first time in the form of Endive and Radicchio and of course we shared soooo many recipes and tips along the way.
So you may be asking what’s next? Well Summer of course! Summer season begins this year on June 5, 2023 and runs through June 26, 2023. This is a special season because not only do our members get Spring vegetables, but they also receive the first fruits of Summer! Think zucchini, cucumbers, eggplants, and more. It’s also special because it’s doesn’t happen each year. So when it does, you can expect it to be a good one! Thinking about joining? Well act quickly because Summer closes this weekend.
Then what? Well Fall of course! This season is a great one because you get quite the mixture of both Summer and Fall produce. Fall usually begins with Summer items and as the weather cools produce like collards, mustards, radishes, turnips, and more show up at your door. Fall has been announced as well and is accepting new members. It’s a great time to join, support local, and secure a clean chemical free food source for you and your family. We hope to see you soon.
